Where’s the shot? 3 parish pharmacies now taking vaccine appointments
There are three Washington Parish pharmacies that have begun receiving shipments of COVID-19 vaccines, according to information from the Louisiana Department of Health and the Washington Parish Government.
Those who are in the current tier group must contact the pharmacy to set up an appointment to receive the vaccine. Vaccine supply is limited, and waiting lists are likely to be used. No citizen will be able to receive the vaccine without previously setting up an appointment.
These vaccines are currently available to citizens in Priority Group 1-B, Tier 1. This group includes the following: persons ages 70 years or older; outpatient clinic providers and clinic staff; urgent care clinic providers and staff; community care clinic providers and staff; behavioral health providers and staff; dialysis providers and patients; home health service providers and recipients; dental providers and staff; and students, resident, faculty and staff of allied health schools (if not already receiving vaccine or in a plan to receive from their respective schools).
The three pharmacies are:
- Creel’s Family Pharmacy, 26496 Highway 62 in Franklinton (phone number is 985-848-5555).
- Nielsen’s Pharmacy, 1619 S. Columbia St. in Bogalusa. (985-732-7481).
- Sumrall’s Pharmacy, 30304 Highway 21 in Angie. (985-986-4433).
