SLU opens golf schedule Monday at Lone Star Invitational
The Southeastern Louisiana University golf team opens their 2021-22 schedule Monday morning beginning at 8:30 a.m. when they compete in the first and second round of the Lone Star Invitational at TPC San Antonio – Oaks Course.
The tournament features 13 teams including host UT San Antonio, UL Lafayette, UT Arlington, Texas State, UT-Martin, Oral Roberts, UT Rio-Grande Valley, Houston Baptist, Stephen F. Austin, Lamar, New Mexico State and UIW.
SLU will have five players representing them for the season opener, including Logan Kuehn, Cameron Mobley, Zack Barrios, Kris Kerr and Grayson Glorioso.
Kuehn, a senior, led the team in scoring average in the 2020-21 season. The Lake Charles, Louisiana native played 13 rounds with an average of 74.0. Kuehn also had two top 10 finishes last season in just five tournaments.
Mobley, a sophomore, was equally as consistent. The Brandon, Mississippi product also played 13 rounds finishing with a 74.38 stroke average last year. Mobley had four finishes in the top 20 including runner up at the Gulf Coast Intercollegiate.
The Lions will play 36 holes Monday before concluding the tournament Tuesday morning at 8:30 a.m. with the final round.
